First, I thought no one could be a better biker boyfriend than Tack Allen, and then we were introduced to Shy Cage and I thought, oh, he's even better! But no! That's because I hadn't yet met Hop Kincaid, and, boy, is he swoon-worthy! The story of Hop and Lanie takes place 7 years after the events of Motorcycle Man and crosses over some events that take place in Own The Wind. Lanie is having a hard time emotionally, still haunted by the death of her fiance, and seeks some form of release. Enter Hop, who has been riding solo since a breakup with his former old lady. No feelings were supposed to be involved, but how often does that actually happen? The slow burn that exists between Lanie and Hop oftentimes becomes too much for the pair and they spend several weeks/months winding themselves around each other and trying to disentangle from one another all at the same time. The sexual chemistry between the two is off the charts and Hop's biker badness has so many layers beneath it, and I enjoyed every second of getting to know both Hop's and Lanie's backstories and families. And the waffle-themed epilogue is so good that it hurt to walk away from these characters when I was finished with the book!
