This was a quick, easy read! I didn't love it as much as I hoped I would, and part of the reason is simply because I prefer books that provide a good amount of worldbuilding. I felt like I hardly got any in this one. Additionally, I think the book would have benefitted from a little more editing.

I liked the characters, for the most part, although I wished I had learned more about Kahtan before the story got started. Sage and Gavin were probably my favorites. Their friendship was both sweet and entertaining! Kahtan didn't seem to have much purpose in the plot, but that could easily change as the series goes on. One thing I'm grateful for is that he didn't miraculously transform from a weakling to a warrior after a cliche training montage! (Haha, don't get me started on cliches...)

I AM intrigued about where the storyline is going, so I plan to continue the series. Hopefully, the next book will go into more detail about everything!
