‘The Ever Queen’ by LJ Andrews is a captivating read for fans of dark and adventurous fantasy romance. Fae-inspired worlds, enemies-to-lovers tropes, and a passionate, action-packed story which will leave you on the edge of your seat. While Erik and Livia's romance will always be my favorite part of this duology, the plot in this is a daring adventure of pirates, war, mysterious elven kin, and a king's desperate hunt to find his heartbond, and queen.

Dark and seductive, we are transported back to The Ever, picking up where book one left off. Erik is determined to bring back Livia who has been taken by the enemy. I’m usually not a huge fan of the separation trope as most of the book is taken up by them returning to one another. However, Andrews executed it perfectly, with the right amount of yearning and enough action from both POVs to keep it interesting. The Songbird and The Serpent have been such a wonderful couple to read. Their moments together were heartfelt and tender, and of course scorchingly hot.

The secondary characters were once again a wonderful addition. They are all well developed so that they feel like their own characters with their own histories and minds. They furthered the plot and brought levity and laughter. More than once their interactions had me chuckling out loud.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this duology and I cannot wait to continue exploring this world. I ordered the next book ‘The Mist Thief’ as soon as I turned over the last page! I’m also excited so go back and read Andrews precious books that led to The Ever Seas.
