Overall I really really loved this volume, the ending alone was as crazy as Graves’ endings always are.
That said, it felt like this was trying to be two books at once: one about Saffron trying to play high fey while going to school, and the other about Saffron trying to uncover the mystery of his new aridity. It was frustrating and made reading difficult. I kept getting whiplash as it swapped between the two story lines— right as I got comfortable with one, we’d switch to the other plot. The two plots were good on their own, but could have been weaved together a bit more gently.
