If the book were longer, went through Atl’s backstory in greater detail and the interactions with other vampire clans/subspecies, I think that would have helped fully flesh out the plot and made the reader care about the characters and what happened to them. I didn’t love the ending, but it’s probably the most appropriate one to go with and I can appreciate that.
