Sleeping in the Ground by Peter Robinson
3.0
The further up the ladder Banks goes the more distant he becomes from the crimes. This novel illustrates this point, but yet he is still there going off on a seemingly pointless direction, which really doesn't make sense at the time. "Just a feeling". But in the end the truth is found.
There is a lot of focus on the junior detectives in this story, almost as if they are being set up for their own spin off. Unfortunately, I don't like that all that much and takes away from why I have read this series. Being at the tail end of the series I miss where it all started as it's a bit predictable and repetitive in places. The same characters after a while can become dull.
The crime in this story is from the front pages of the news but the reason is an old one. The end of story feels rushed.
It's enjoyable but predictable.
