Brave New Girl: Seven Steps to Confidence by Chloe Brotheridge
informative
inspiring
reflective
medium-paced
4.0
I know Chloe Brotheridge from her Calmer You Podcast, which I used to listen to while commuting or doing household chores during my university days. I also participated in a few of her free online seminars/Zoom calls and enjoyed her calm and positive presence as well as her tips on managing anxiety.
This vibe of hers is definitely reflected in this book - the way this book is written felt very authentic and relatable to me. Chloe shares a bunch of her own experiences as examples and I think many women with the same struggles feel seen. Overall this book felt not judgemental or lecturing like many other self-help books do. Instead, it has the vibe of "I know how you feel. I went through the same thing. It's okay. Maybe you can try out abc or xyz".
This book does a great job on picking up different situations, problems and thought patterns that many women go through/have and explaining how we can change our reactions or mindset regarding it, including multiple exercises in every chapter. Reading this was very thought provoking and inspiring!
