Dreadful Company by Vivian Shaw

4.0

I love this series. I got the Audible books, so I haven’t actually read them. The narrator has a lovely voice, so I enjoy listening to them. However, I might buy the Kindle books to support Vivian.

I can’t wait for what happens next. Greta is so practical, which should be expected from a doctor in her 30s. I imagine reading a lot of YA has made me value this trait as I’ve gotten older. I love how the vampires cherish Greta. The same can be said of Vas(s?). It gives me warm fuzzies. The monsters in this book are adorable.

I can’t think of a single thing I disliked about this book. In fact, I’m going to go back and give it 5 stars instead of 4. I really do love this series. I love reading about the weird science of the cases Greta has as a doctor. I love seeing her interactions with her patients, her relationships with the vampires, and her curiosity with the supernaturals in general. Greta and I would get along splendidly. I also really enjoy the inclusion of classic Gothic novels. It adds a richness to the story that I really enjoy.

Are you picking up what I’m putting down yet? This is one of my new favorite series, and I sincerely hope that it is more than three books (book 3 next year)!!!
