This book!! 😍😍 It was the last book I finished in March and it managed to perfectly round out the month.

I feel like more of less everyone's had a boyband phase and I definitely spent a couple of years in my early teens being obsessed with a boyband (anyone remember Blue?) However, I never really got into the fandom aspect of it, or the shipping, and while I knew bandfic was a thing, it wasn't *my* thing. If This Gets Out had me hooked right away though, and I've been finding myself thinking of the book a lot the past few days.

(Very vague spoilers ahead)

I fell in love with and rooted for Zach and Ruben, feeling giddy for them but also experiencing a sense of dread and sadness regarding their, and their bandmates', circumstances. I really enjoyed the POV switching between Ruben and Zach, and how it allowed us to get inside their heads and see how both of them dealt with everything regarding their jobs, relationship, intimacy, and identity. The book did such a good job of describing the weight of their fame and the constraints and rules that comes with that mixed with the elation and excitement of young love, and I did at one point worry I'd be left heartbroken by this book. Fortunately, this wasn't the case and I've instead been able to just bask in the love and pride I have for these boys. Zuben forever! πŸ’–
