I read this book aloud to my fourth graders as part of our morning meeting routine. Students loved hearing how someone like them grew a forest from nothing. They also loved discussing the proverb at the beginning of the book (“the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”) and figuring out just how large an acre was.
