The Outsider by Albert Camus

5.0

This is unequivocally one of the greatest pieces of literature I've read till date. It left me feeling depressed, dejected towards the end as I could hardly control my tears. I had moments of perfect identification and harmony with Mersault's mental suffering and agony. It was so eye-opening yet so sad and profound at the same time. This existentialist tale radically questions the meaning of family, love, relationships, society, God and justice in its incredibly condensed and lucid narrative. I would urge everyone to read this once in their lifetime because it sums up the human experience in no uncertain terms.
I literally have no words to describe the feeling I had after reading this.
