The Perks of Loving a Wallflower by Erica Ridley
2.0
Never have I gone from :) to π so quickly reading a book. The ending made me soooooo annoyed.
getting angsty because your gf won't out herself in regency era UK where her parents have the ability to institutionalize her or force her to marry is WILD and to act like forsaking literally all respectable society is as reasonable as pretending to be in a hetero relationship on the rare occurrences you attend society functions is so dumb. ALSO, because the baron is foreign.....they could just get married and the 'baron' could return to his foreign lands for 'business' and she could then go on to forge a close and nonsuspicious relationship to his family...... UGHHHHH I was really loving this book until this ridiculous 'conflict'. The whole "everyone is actually super accepting and fine with everything felt so cheap and silly
