I think I’m done with this series. As much as I loved the first book, they’ve all been a drag since then. Faythe as a character is insufferable because all of the trouble she gets into is entirely her fault. The characters outside of her and the two love interests all bleed together and I don’t care about any of them. Vincent uses so much filler information to bulk up the page count that it actually slows the book down for a book that has a ton happening, but all in a very disjointed way. The stuff I actually care most about at this point is the love triangle but I can already tell how that is going to end since it’s obvious. I’d rather just read a plot summary at this point. Plus the world is so misogynistic which I get the character doesn’t promote but there’s only so much I can read about the women being attempted to be abducted for their wombs and having no agency before it starts to grate. There are other urban fantasy series I’d rather be reading.
Graphic: Death, Gore, and Misogyny
Moderate: Torture and Sexual harassment
