Her Way by Nicci Harris
5.0
The Queen has done it again! I am a longtime fan of Nicci Harris's work, and I am constantly astounded by her ability to continuously produce top-tier romances that straddle the line between "oh that's hot" and "holy crap it's on fire !!!!
Her Way is a dark romance and is perfect for readers who relish dirty as sin flirting and smeggsy scenes that will leave you wondering, "Am I into this?" It's an extension of the Kids of the District series and focuses on Bronson Butcher- a dangerous psychopath with a heart of gold and his lady love Shoshanna AKA the one that got away.
Bronson is reminiscent of Diesel in Den of Vipers but with an added complexity. Yes, he's borderline psychotic with an"I hear voices in my head laughing" vibe but he cares so deeply and has this quiet vulnerability that shows his capacity for love. To Bronson, Shoshanna feels like something that he has yearned for his entire life- home.
One thing I relished in Her Way was the intimacy of the connection between Bronson and Shoshanna. Their passion is palpable and the emotions are raw and unfiltered! This isn't some fleeting romance but years of emotions, love, and unsaid words that culminate in an explosive reconnection that will leave readers breathless and squirming (wink).
Her Way also features my favorite trope, "Hot, crazy bad boy who everyone wants but he only has eyes for one woman" and I was 100% here for it. The writing is riveting, the plotline is superb and the characters are addictive!
I highly recommend this for lovers of dark mafia romance, slightly psycho male leads, sizzling smeggsy scenes, and quality writing then look no further.
