The Homecoming by Andrew Pyper

adventurous mysterious tense fast-paced

3.0

I have a bit to say about this book and frankly it's not all positive.

To start, I am not a big fan of open endings and leaving things unsaid, which means I was disappointed by the last chapter and the lack of "closure" we get concerning Aaron's character. I really liked him but I just don't enjoy not knowing who he is when we got the others' informations. I also don't really agree with the ending for Bridge it felt rushed and nonsensical to me.

Character wise I didn't hate them, however despite the information we get at the start and near the ending, the pretty fast pacing of the book made it rather hard to really have a sort of connection with them. I liked them the same way I'd like someone I met once and would never see again.

The reveal of who the characters were felt rushed and just thrown into the lot which left it underwhelming.

In terms of plot and writing I don't have much to say, I enjoyed the both of them and while I did expect something strange might've happened to the family I didn't imagine it to be what they went through which was great, cliché in the way of it all but great.

All in all while I don't particularly love this book with all my heart I still enjoyed it and would recommend it for short and easy read!
