Review: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's yet another one of my spontaneous read which I finished in a single sitting. I was in stuck in a reading slump for past two weeks, and then yet again I saw it's reel and next thing you know I already finished it.
I liked the whole setting of the story. You could easily picture yourself in the whole Dark Academia scenario and if you love gothic/dark academia you'll find yourself reading this book.
I liked Troy and Corvina's friendship how he figured it all out and reassured her, always being with her as a good friend. Him dying in the book was one of the last things I expected. I liked him and was looking forward to see him and Jade but little did I know I was in it for the huge surprise. I think it's the reason why I gave 4 stars.
Another thing I liked was the fact that this book has a completely different vibe from any book I have read so far. Dark, mysterious, chilling, and full of suspense. I loved the whole setting of moutains, old wives' tales and the touch of macabre in it.
Now talking about Corvina & Vad's relationship, I loved how healthy communication they had despite harboring secrets. While Vad had been hiding things and being all secretive, I liked how Corvina dived head on and put her trust in him. She knew he was evil, she knew what he was capable of, and yet she didn't wavered from her believe of Vad not being the responsibile for all disappearences when Ajax accused him of that.
Oh, and let's not forget their oh-so-slow build up, chemistry, push and pull, it was all amazing and off the charts!
