Against any prediction, I fell in love with this book and especially its characters.
I have had this novel for the longest time (it had been on my tbr for around 3 years) and I had always been intimidated by its length and its sequels (especially the last one that recently came out). Nevertheless, it was picked as my February read for the “choose your path” Orilium challenge and therefore I had to start it. For these reasons, I didn’t expect it to grip me from the first pages and make me fall in love with the characters. In fact, I loved finding the characters of the infernal devices series as the parents of this new cast. In this way, one of the best found families I’ve read about, was created.
This novel made me laugh, tear up, feel upset and frustrated throughout its development and I couldn’t have asked for more. Even the end was unexpected and, even though what I was more concentrated in were the interactions between the protagonists, I really enjoyed the plot too.  I am in fact curious of what surprises the next instalments hold and I can’t wait to dove into them.
