When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

5.0

WOW This was certainly a ride, and a lengthy one at that, full of twists and turns, but I loved every second of it.

First, the world building was certainly unique and a breath of fresh air with different types of dragons that transform into moons and land in the sky after their death, Parchment larks that are used to deliver messages, and a magic system based on Gods singing in your ears. It was really complex and the author even use a whole different language that I struggled to keep up at times because she doesn’t always explain what’s being said and that was frustrating and even though we have a glossary at the beginning, I still felt kinda lost.

Then, the characters. I loved the heroine Raeve who’s an assassin for the Fíur du Ath, a group of rebels who are against the reign of the king of the Shade Tyroth Vaegor ( who snatches kids from their mothers to build his own army) and she kinda reminds me of Celaena Sardothien even though she has many flaws, deep trauma and doesn’t let herself get close to people. Our hero, King Kaan Vaegor, is the perfect book boyfriend and definitely my newest obsession
