This is book two in the series and I confess that I haven't read the first one. However it doesn't matter at all as there is enough back story mentioned that you can easily follow the story. Plus it is a good one that had me intrigued as to who was on Gray's side and who is trying to get her captured/ injured. Makes for an engaging read about life in a boarding school. But also for the relationships between the teenagers.
