The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

4.0

Absolutely loved it. Lettie could totally be a Time Lord. I loved the prose of Gaiman, never too much, too flowery, but some of the lines hit hard. The way he wrote a 7 year old child was so authentic and accurate. You never felt the child was annoying or stupid even if the decisions he made were frustrating; the decisions and actions were always understandable. This story was cool and creepy and weird and scary and meaningful and beautiful and painful. This is my first Neil Gaiman and I can’t wait to read more.
