Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

5.0

Jane Eyre is a beautiful book filled with heartbreak and inner battles with morals. Jane is a character who considers her own morals and beliefs to be more important than any feelings. She always does what she believes to be right and this is the main premise of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves long descriptions and imagery. It is very beautifully written but if you aren’t used to longer books it might not be the best place to start. The writing is very advanced and can be a little bit hard to comprehend if you tend to read more quickly. I definitely think that being able to discuss this book with people reading it at the same time as you is the most helpful for understanding all of the little things that happen. I have never been more affected by a book than I have with Jane Eyre. It came to me during a time of my life where I needed a woman like Jane to guide me to understand my own morals and what I value above all else. I turn to this book whenever I need to remember how I can move on from heartbreak like she did and to consider my own wellbeing above anyone else’s.
