Wonder Woman: Earth One Vol. 1 by Grant Morrison
2.0
I'm always willing to go to bat for Morrison, but this might be the exception. The pacing feels all over the place - you'd think from the introductory sequence set in ancient times that this would be more of a slow-burner a la Seven Soldiers, but after that it's pedal-to-the-metal all the way with little time spent developing characterizations or the Amazon world. There's some potential for a really charming fishes-out-of-water story with Wonder Woman traveling to "Man's World" and Steve Trevor visiting Paradise Island, but their interactions are shoved aside for this trial framing story that Morrison seems to be far too taken with for the book's own good. At least Paquette's art is pretty (I like the invisible plane design)?
