This story was beautiful and haunting.
I loved the nature descriptions. Everything felt so alive.
I really appreciated that Mack’s grief wasn’t erased. The grief was dealt with, but it was still there it’s okay for grief to linger, to be a part of you. You don’t have to forget the grief to heal from it.
There was a brief moment in the middle where I felt bored, I wanted to just get on with the story. I know it was building up to the end, but I was impatient.
The last couple chapters were very creepy and I loved it so much. For the most part though, I found this to be a subtle horror. It was eerie and mysterious.
