Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
5.0
More like Harry Potter and his teenage rage..
After rereading the entire series..I started to understand why Harry Potter appeal to many people. It's because Harry grows up with us which makes it relatable. In other book series, we often don't see this.. usually we just see the main character being shy --> falls in love --> rebel. BORING.
Like in 'Order of Phoenix', we get to see how Harry, as a teenager, notice more about his surroundings. In the previous books, we didn't know how the wizard world works, but this book tells us the politics, people and environment about the wizarding world. Just like most of us readers. When we reach our teenage years, we understand more about politics and how crooked the government and how controlled the media is, just like the Minister of magic and The Daily Prophet. This might refer to the time when J.K Rowling started to become popular and there were lots of people criticizing her book. I feel like 'Order of Phoenix' has the most themes compared to other books: Love, conflict, revenge, death, etc.
Also, the importance of friendship and love is addressed here (which most of us also felt it during our teenage years). And of course.. EXAMS! haha
What I liked: We get lots of new characters and more background story about the characters from the previous books like Snape and Harry's parents. For me this book REALLY display my current situation (seriously tho! politics, friendship and people..).
Although it is the thickest book in the entire series, every chapters and pages are important for the story and character development. Well- written! Also, I liked how J.K explained everything at the end but at the same time didn't give us a sense of satisfaction, Makes it mysterious (Although I already know what's the ending haha).
What I didn't like: We didn't get to know more about the Death Eaters. (Although i know it happens in the next few books :P)
