I read the first book in this series, 'Not a Man', was captivated and immediately bought 'The King's Favourite'. I've been absolutely transfixed by Shuki's story, and will miss him! This is just as shocking as 'Not a Man', yet also heartwarming in the way Shuki deals with the situations thrust upon him, and how he makes the best of it, even having a positive influence on the people around him, whether King, advisor, wife or child. This is a fantastic book, and I heartily recommend it.
