The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

5.0

I loved everything about this book. It felt natural. I never seen a YA book deal with cultural appropriation in this manner. Seeing two immigrants in a Irish private school (Bengali and Brazilian) falling for each other. One is more interested in popularity/friends, one is more self assured and confident. I love caring her herself matters more then starting a relationship that would have to be a secret. I love reading about how much the henna meant. The cover is beautiful too.
