Struggles of the Women Folk by T. M. Brown

5.0

Struggles of the Women Folk is a fascinating piece of social commentary, expertly brought to life by T. M. Brown. It follows the story of Georgie, a young black girl in the 1940s American South and her travails and challenges as she grows.

Gripping and very emotional, I was with Georgie every step of her way, through loss, triumph and hardship. She stayed in my mind long after I had finished the book, and can only hope this is the first of many books by T.M. Brown. Highly recommended.
