I have to say that with the first book I was not all that happy with Caleb at first. I really wanted to dislike him. But in this one, we get to find out how he feels about her, how he has his own demons.

There are a lot of twists and turns, many that I didn't see coming. I always love a book that throws me off. And have to say I immediately wanted more about Agent Reed as well as Dr. Sloan. They were an interesting little side note that I enjoyed. I liked Dr. Sloan from the get go and at first I didn't care much for Agent Reed but he grew on me. I could tell they both were genuinely worried about her and cared about her well-being.

Reading Olivia re-living everything was heart-wrenching at times. I honestly fell in love with Caleb and could see why she cared for him the way she did. There were also a couple of other key players in the book, where the majority of the book took place (from her memories). I enjoyed reading about them also, as much as I wanted to hate every single person that was a part of Caleb's world it was hard at some points.

Forced slavery is never an easy subject to read about but this was written in a way that it never once made me want to just put down the book and say 'no thank you' I actually was pulled into the story and wanted to know more. Caleb and Olivia in one way were meant to be. He and her were so broken growing up. We get to find out more about him in this one, he opens up more to her so she gets to find out what happened to him growing up. We get to see her reactions to that as well as her trying to understand why he is the man he is.

There is a lot that happens and a lot that comes to light in this one. I have to say that when I finally got to the ending I felt okay with it. I would have been fine with how it ended and felt like I got closure on their story. But there is another she wrote for her fans, since they begged her to write more in this series.

This book series may be a bit disturbing for some and I understand that not everyone will enjoy it but I did, and I actually liked Caleb in the end. Okay I liked him about midway through the first book. :)

"I've been doing this a long time - manipulating people to get my way. That's why you think you love me. Because I've broken you down and built you back up to believe it. It wasn't an accident. Once you leave this behind...you'll see that."

"He leaned down and licked at one of the salty tears ..."What are you doing?" She said and laughed. "I was Curious." he whispered. "About what?" ... "If happy tears taste the same as the sad ones." he said"

"If it be thus to dream, still let me sleep."
