Gahhhhhh I wish I could've liked this book more because of how well Viet Thanh Nguyen writes, but short story collections are always so hard to reckon with.
Each standalone story was incredibly rich in detail and depth, but not all of them ended in ways I thought would have been more complementary to their build up.
War Years and The Americans were absolutely amazing though, and if you're looking for fiction that can give you more insight on the Vietnamese, Vietnamese-American, and Vietnam War Veteran communities then :D this might do it for you!
