Always a fan of Ruth Ware. This short story by Ware did not disappoint. Part of the "Hush Collection" from Kindle Unlimited, I was eager to see how Ruth would spook me like she always manages to do.
An isolated island, a family, and a looming fear of what is out past the water. What if they fear took over? For Leah, the lone female in her broken family, she grew up thinking that the world across from her island was a place of heartbreak and war. Her father was the one who saved them - got them all out before the world crumbled around them... Or so she thought!
Leah's story is one that is not told often but I feel it is more common than people think. Loved this short read and would recommend to anyone who likes a psychological thriller read.
