The Door in the Wall by H.G. Wells

4.0

Hg Wells is as always ahead of his time. I don’t think anyone could predict our current society’s obsession with the unknown of death: is it a simulation, are we just never ending energy beings? Somehow Hg Wells encompassed that and the power of imagination in this short story. It’s left up to the reader to decide if this garden was a figment of his imagination, there to comfort his loneliness and need for happiness. Or if he really was connected to the unknown, the next adventure after death.
