The Inside of a Rainbow by Bridget L. Rose
5.0
“When you’re the person throwing everyone’s life upside-down with whatever mental illness decides to dig its claws into you, it’s impossible not to think about how it’s affecting the people in your life. It makes you feel like a burden.”
So it wasn’t that I wasn’t excited for this book but I wasn’t as excited because I really wanted to get to the Charles inspired book and I don’t know anything about MotoGP but this book genuinely surprised me. Scarlett’s deals with crippling anxiety and while my anxiety doesn’t manifest the same way, I really identified with how her anxiety made her feel like a burden because I know that feeling very well. I really liked how she was a plus size FMC and that it was a nonissue, like the MMC mentioned it, but it wasn’t a key part of the story. The spicy scenes were SPICY! But overall, Bridget L. Rose strikes again. She is a delight of an author and I find her books delectable. She does such a great job and I cannot wait for the next book which is the Charles book! Also she did so well on the bilingual part and didn’t fall into my pet peeve which is where they translate the language right after. Drives me nuts. A+
