Judged by Liz de Jager

5.0

"Judged" is the final book in the Blackhart Trilogy. I devoured book 1, absolutely loved it and couldn't wait for book 2. When it came it was even more awesome and I couldn't wait for book 3, and here we are. The whole book has a much more grown up feeling, the characters are stronger, and we still have the banter between the 3, Kit, Aiden and Dante. Fun banter without descending into a messy love triangle. Kit has her Thorn and that's that. I'm not going to describe the plot, story etc as that would inevitably involve spoilers, suffice to say I was not disappointed. "Judged" picks up a little while after "Vowed" book 2 and sees our heroes doing some investigating and kicking ass. A subtle if somewhat lugubrious start but soon picks up the pace half way through and then it's high octane action to the end, and what an ending, loved it, brilliant.
I will miss the Blackharts, the fae, the Otherwhere, everything, but understand the need to close this particular chapter. That said, a spin off series would be heartily welcomed.
If you've not read any of the trilogy, do yourself a favour and launch yourself in with book 1 "Banished", I'll hide my jealousy at you reading it for the first time, but will compensate by revisiting it again, and again, and again.
Thank you Liz for these amazing stories and characters, I look forward to reading your next venture :)
