I adore poetry. It is so expressive and the ability to say so much with just a few words is what has the most impact on me when I read it. This book will give you that in spades.

It is dark.
It is raw.
It is - at times - sensual and full of love.
It is painful, even if it is in a way that might only be understood by those who have lived through experiences these words can relate to.

It is beautiful.

I found myself staying up into the early hours of the morning just staring at the pages on my screen with tears rolling down my face. Silently sobbing. I've already caught myself opening it back up to read a few of the poems again. Just knowing that someone else felt the same things I have at some point in their life strongly enough to put them down on paper is such an indescribable comfort. But to also read some of these poems that dive so deep into someone's heart and mind. To see a person's soul poured out in black and white on a page - it's intensely moving as well as inspiring.

I do not know what the word count is for this book but I'm sure it is low due to the type of writing it is. Yet to be able to say so much, to make someone FEEL so much, and not need thousands of words, multiple characters, and a gripping plot line to do so is such a talent.

And I need more.

So I am crossing my fingers that this is not the only time we get to experience poetry from this author. I cannot wait to add a physical copy of this book to my shelves so that I can grab it and flip through its pages anytime I need to feel a little less alone in this sometimes cruel and isolating world.

While this is poetry, it is heavy, so please make sure to read the author's note on the content at the beginning before reading.
