Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

5.0

A deliciously dark story about an occultist necromancer, her bodyguard, and probably more bones than anybody asked for.

Gideon the Ninth was everything I wanted it to be: from cryptic dark magic to murder mysteries to epic sword fights with a bonus of clever dialogue infused with Gideon's dry humour to keep the horror at bay. 5 stars. No complaints
