Another great read from Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé! The writing captured my attention from the beginning and the opening chapter left me so curious about what was going on here. There was so much tension and mystery surrounding the plot and Sade herself was a very intriguing character.

I appreciated how Àbíké-Íyímídé dealt with heavy subjects here like grief and sexual assault. Nothing was gratuitous and there weren't any scenes to shock the reader into feeling something. That made this an even more emotional read for me. How those particular elements were tackled and developed showed just how good of a writer Àbíké-Íyímídé is.

A few plot points and foreshadowing were a bit obvious and predictable, however. I wouldn't say me figuring out what was happening took much away from the story, but I would have liked to be surprised... This was still a great read, and I will definitely pick up whatever else Àbíké-Íyímídé publishes.
