Once upon a time, I used to download every free Kindle ebook that BookBub told me about. I ended up with way too many free ebooks, so I stopped doing that. But this was one of them!
For a free ebook, it was better than I expected. Nerdy main character who makes non-stop cultural references? No strong feelings. Gay punk characters? Cool! Gay punk characters that don't really do anything or have any defining personality traits? Eh. Characters who are almost 50 that use terms like "awesomesauce" and noms? Hmmm. Insta-lust? *Nope* don't love that.
But overall it was fun. Comes in at just over 100 pages and could have used a lot more fleshing out for the characters and relationships, especially the main romantic relationship.
I listened to it on Audio, and the narrator was quite listenable.
