The Rycke by Lily Mayne

5.0

Wow. Another amazing story by Lily Mayne. I am obsessed with Aury. He is so sweet, kind, gentle, empathetic, and possessive. I am almost even more obsessed with Ghost! He is me. I am him. He is so kind and thoughtful, but also anxious and kind of a pushover and he's stressed about everything. He feels invisible, unwanted, and kind of like a bother. That is, until Aury. I adore how Aury loves Ghost and makes him finally feel seen. I also like Ghost's relationships with Rig and Lilac. They're all great friends to each other. I love how Ghost and Rig saved Aury and Aury immediately felt a connection to Ghost. I enjoyed watching him get better while the two fell for each other. I also liked the struggle of Ghost not telling the truth about his visits to the wastes and his displeasure of going back out. He felt like he was expendable and that felt so real. I love how the camp bands together and I need to know more about Cat! He keeps popping up. Aury's struggle with his possessive side/monstrous self also feels so real. I absolutely adore these characters and the side characters. Another truly amazing book! 3/5 spice levels.

Notes: possessive MC, post-apocalyptic world, anxiety, hurt/comfort, ptsd, nursing one mc back to health, monster/human, blushing by mc, instalove/bonding
