I was hardly expecting this novel to be heavily based on Mean Girls, but reversed roles going into this, but that’s exactly what it is. Not quite Heathers, but mean girls with an even more dark, almost Saw-like twist.

I still don’t really know what’s happening. I feel like a lot of the last 30 pages were just events written to shock the reader, rather than to drive the plot forward. I don’t get what the point or reason for the whole final scene that takes place in Riley’s house is about. Hopefully there’ll be answers in the next book.

Overall, even though this was an incredibly easy read and I flew through it, I feel like I was left with more questions than answers. It also reminded me a lot of the times I read Pretty Little Liars. It’s got that same YA thriller vibe, but with a religious/fantastical twist.
