Did I read this book only because I loved season 3??? YES. Did I specifically buy the book with the tv show cover??? YES. Throw shade all you want but Miss Shonda Rhimes (and Nicola Caughlon and Luke Newton) is the only thing that could pull me out of my Bridgerton slumpification (I HATE READ™️ the first 3 books of the series). But my hateration of the Bridgerton books is OVER (for now, I have like 4 more books in the series) thanks to season 3 of Bridgerton (especially the carriage scene). The executives of Bridgerton knew that they could make money off of basic høes like me who would go out and buy the book after that CARRIAGE SCENE and are too impatient to wait a month to hear the rest of the story!!!!! I NEED MORE POLIN I CANT WAIT A MONTH. Does this make me a consumer? Probably. But I’m just a girl. A girl who loves simping men and regency smut.

So first off, Penelope is such a good character like so likeable and layered. She’s all down about lack of male attention but I’m just like GIRL YOU JUST WAIT YOURE GONNA GET YOUR VITAMIN D SOON sis.
Colin is def the most likeable and deep Bridgerton I have read about (thus far (and probably ever cause idk if I’ll read the rest of the series). He was YEARNING. He was OBSESSED. He was SMITTEN. And I ate it tf up. I think it was so sweet how the two grew to love each other from years of friendship. This whole book was just sweet and had some sexy shit. I’m sad we didn’t get a detailed play-by-play of the mirror fantasy but the fooling around scenes were delicious nonetheless. I just really liked this book so much more than the first 3 Bridgerton books. This felt organic and genuine and just so adorable. This just makes me love the show more and I’m interested in how the show will finish the second half of this book.
