Took forever to get going and just when it got interesting, it sped to the finish line. This wasn’t creepy enough to be horror, but also didn’t feel that interested in being a crime novel. We’ll call it literary fiction with some weird stuff that happens? Rounding up because the prose was SO good. Some similes were heavy-handed but the writing was atmospheric and pure noir. I only wish that the genre elements worked better.
