Hannah Grace is an amazing romance author and I quickly devoured all of the Maple Hills books. That being said, they can't all be favorites and unfortunately this one fell to the bottom of my list out of the three books. Which certainly is not to say it's a bad book. Quite the opposite - it's just that Grace has set the bar so high for herself!

The characters are fully formed, charming and funny yet flawed and realistic. I want to be friends with all of them in real life. And I love how much dimension she gives her male characters - they're not just swoon worthy eye-candy. They have flaws and feelings without being to fluffy. I think Henry might be my favorite boyfriend out of all the Maple Hill boys. Watching the hockey boys in this book band together against Will was probably my favorite scene.

But this book is long. There's a lot of light-treading around eachother that in my opinion, could have been shortened. The main thing keeping them apart also felt a little weak and not super important to the plot. I think Halle and Henry could have gotten together much sooner. But watching Halle grow a back-bone and stand up to her family was *so* satisfying. I think that payoff was more satisfying then Henry and Halle finally getting together. Which just goes to show how much care Grace puts into the backstory of her characters. These books are about more than just falling in love, they're about finding yourself as your own person too and supporting your partner which I think is my favorite thing about all the books in this series.
