Stormy by Jennifer Lynn Cary
3.0
3 stars - Read via Kindle eBook that has all 3 books in the series. I have them marked individually on Goodreads to maintain an accurate count.
I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first one. I think it was because Stormy was very tough to like much of the time. Her pride, selfishness, and anger didn’t fit with her teacher persona or how she treated clients, etc. She was a mass of contradictions and personalities.
The back stories about her medical situation and her mom affected her behaviour, but rather shakily. While I understand they were contributing factors, her choices were hers.
Her recognition of the hurt she caused people was very surface and sudden. It all appeared to be glossed over too easily when she had bulldozed their marriage and her pregnant sister. Her husband, on the other hand, was a prince of a man who put up with a lot.
I enjoyed the other characters in the story but Stormy wasn’t a character I could get behind. She was all over the map for me.
