I took this from my grandfather's library when I was a teenager and I became totally mesmerized by it. I couldn't stop reading well into the night. I read this in two nights and was totally immersed in the story for a while. A book to remember. I later got the very same copy I'd read, an early edition in miniature, from the fifties, as a present. It's still a favourite.
