Kiss Him, Not Me!, Vol. 1 by Junko
2.0
The premise for this novel is: what if you were an otaku that everyone overlooked romantically/sexually because you were larger bodied, but you suddenly drop the weight after mourning a character in your favorite show that died, and now have Male Attention?
The fat phobia is not a glitch, nor is it challenged in any manner.
There is one boy out of the four who actually knew who she was pre-illness (because let's call that what it is), and who recognized her and treated her the same after, and who consistently shows his open mindedness when it comes to Kae's interests, even if they're a little cringe.
Not for me, but I know why others might enjoy it.
Will I read the next one? Maybe, but I'm more likely to look up spoilers for the end game pairing.
