Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag

4.0

What a delightful novella! The narrator's voice pulls the reader in and doesn't let you loose for one moment. I love the way Shanbhag weaves the family's stories together in a ghachar ghochar manner (you'll have to read to find out what that means). But perhaps most beautifully, none of the loose threads are tidied up in the end. You're just left with wondering what happens to each of them, which is a good feeling to have at the end of a story.
