Light Bringer by Pierce Brown

5.0

"So much balances on the good intentions of dangerous people."

I thought I was ready to get hurt again...but now I'm not so sure I was! This book - wow! I knew it would be violent. I knew there would be conflict. I knew we would lose characters. I knew loyalties would be questioned. But I was not prepared for the utter turmoil this book put my heart through!

I enjoyed Iron Gold and Dark Age, but found them to be a little harder to follow with all the different characters and complexities. Light Bringer still has a wide cast of characters, but it seems much more intentional with it's re-focus on certain characters.

And the CHARACTERS. They are SO. GOOD. So incredibly well written (even the ones I now loathe...IYKYK). I feel deep emotional connections with so many of them, which makes the times of heartbreak that much harder to get over and the times of camaraderie that much sweeter.

It's a long book, but the pacing is fast and the story is riveting. This is a book that makes me want to go back and re-read the entire series all over again! I can't wait to see what the conclusion has in store for us!
