This Is Your Brain on Birth Control: The Surprising Science of Women, Hormones, and the Law of Unintended Consequences by Sarah Hill
2.0
I have several issues with this book. First off , the author apologizes to trans people and people that are in unconventional relationships because the book is geared toward biology. Why do they need an apology? The author also uses a lot of cultural abbreviations in the book and it is peppered with some swear words. It diminishes her reliability as a PhD and makes the book less enjoyable. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be on the level of Siddhartha Mukurjee or someone like that, but it appears that the author has made her content almost too approachable. She tries so hard to make sure it is understandable and politically correct and funny that it just comes across as less than stellar.
