I was surprised by how easily accessible his writing was. I'm also not into sci fi and felt this novel asked intriguing questions under the guise of science fiction.
Jason Dessen is having a typical family night with his wife and son, and he goes out to celebrate the achievements of his old friend Ryan, when he is kidnapped. When he wakes up, he's in a parallel universe without his wife and son. At the same time, another version of Jason takes his current life. Will the real Jason Dessen get his life back?
I felt the first half of this novel was a bit slow, but I did truly enjoy the second half. It gathered up steam and was a good balance of plot, characters, and interesting questions to think about.
