Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Oh my gosh that was such a turn of events!! She's a fae queen?! If I would have tried to guess that at the start of the first book, I would have never been able to.

I hope she comes back and can be reunited with Chaol and Dorian and Fleetfoot. I hope she can convince this Wendlyn King to help her and be on her side, if that ends up being her goal. I don't really know what she is going to to.

I'm pretty sure that this series is not finished, and that's upsetting :( I shouldn't have started it.

December 2023:

I was right before, I shouldn’t have started the series when I did. I wound up never finishing it. Coming back to it now all these years later is like reading it for the first time again. I was once again shocked that she turned out to be a fae queen. I couldn’t have guessed that in a million years despite the fact that I already learned it hahaha

I’m going to copy my commentary below

- 64% Archer has done nothing but piss me off this entire book. She should kill him. I don’t care if he is on “the right side”. People need to know that she can’t be messed with. That she can’t be lied to.
- 91% First of all, I knew she should have killed him. Second of all, he is going into the portal after the damn DOG?! The dog being taken by the monster is a perfect chance to escape you moron!
- And HOW DID I FORGET THAT SHE WAS FAE?!?
- 93% you better kill him. You don’t have to do it slow and torture him. But he needs to die.
- NOOOO YOU MORON MORON MORON MORON MORON MORON MORON MORON
- KILL. HIM. NOW.
- Thank fucking Christ
- 100% honestly, though. How did I forget that she was heir to the throne as well. Did I even read this book in 2015??
- I just noticed an update i posted at 90% when I initially read it. “Well I was NOT expecting that. Omg. She’s fae?!?” I’m glad I didn’t see that before. It would have spoiled the surprise 😂
